Brand new Ukraine made tram test-drive is taking place in Kamyanske

tatra yugOn the 12 of September a novelty arrived to Kamyanske - developmental prototype of three-section tram made by Tatra-Yug LLC (Dnipro).

According to Vladimyr Romanych, deputy director of Tatra-Yug LLC, this fleet is a brand new development of manufacturer’s engineers and constructors made in a single unit called «K-1M6».

All municipal transport in Zhitomir is now equipped with E-ticket system

e ticket 2All municipal transport in Zhitomir has been equipped with debit card payment system.

E-ticketing terminals have been installed in 110 trolleybuses; besides all the municipal transport park (trolleybuses and trams) have been provided with manual terminal, which allows to bay for the ride with banking card or NFC-device.

Brand new trolleybuses «Dnipro T-203» manufactured in Ukraine

trolleybus-dneprFirst lot of new low-floor trolleybuses «Dnipro T-203» have been manufactured at Yuzhmash Machine-Building Plant, Dnipro. New vehicles have a unique feature – 15 to 20 km of self-powered movement, provided by GMI Li/Ion batteries with capacity 100 kW/h. Full charging time is up to 40 minutes. Weight of the battery section (160 batteries) is 576 kg. Each vehicle has the following parameters: length – 12.2 m, width – 2.5 m and height – 3.5 m. Passenger capacity is up to 107 people. Also this trolleybus equipped with drop ramp and place for disabled persons. Top speed of the vehicle is 65 km/h.

City authorities have purchased new trolleybuses for 500 000 Euro.

Tender for E-ticket implementation in Lviv is announced

Visitor-Pass-ValidationOn the 17 of July, Lviv municipal enterprise «Lvivautodor» launched bid request for E-ticket implementation tender in Lviv. 17 companies from Ukraine, Europe, Israel, Turkey and South Korea had already sent their offers.

Winner of this tender is to be announced on December 2017 and complete launch of the whole system is announced on the 2018-2019 years. For this purposes all the public transport in Lviv will be equipped with validators working with special and debit cards.

Summary the funds assigned to this project equal 11,2 million Euro, where 10 millions are funds given by EBRD and 1,2 million – funds of local budget.

Negotiations between Dnipro City Administration and EBRD = 50 new trolleybuses

Dnipro-UkraineIn due time Dnipro obtained EBRD loan for metro construction. As a result of tendering Turkish company became contractor whose expenses appeared lower then loan sum. The balance composed around 70 mln.Euro.

In August 2017 Dnipro Mayor – Mr.Boris Filatov during his business trip to London conducted negotiations with EBRD management in charge for municipal infrastructure development. Primarily, disbursement of loan balance was under discussion.

At the same time EBRD provides Dnipro City financing in volume 10 mln.Euro for purchase of 50 trolleybuses, i.e. bankers observe that city is ready not only to take loans but also to pay back. Currently it is not obvious where rolling stock to be bought – in Ukraine or from abroad. Nevertheless, quality guarantee of the fleet and relevant maintenance are main requirements towards suppliers.

Besides, the tendering for purchase of 25 trolleybuses was announced recently, funding will come from city budget.

Trolleybus Line for Northern Cities of Donbass

 trolleybus donbassDonetsk regional state authorities consider possibility to launch trolleybus line to create a link between Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka and Bakhmut.

Route distance will compose about 47 km. At the same time, there is not such transport mode as trolleybus in Slavyansk, Druzhkovka and Konstantinovka. 

Thus, local authorities support launch of electrobus line, vehicles might be bought at the Ukrainian electrical equipment plant.

Public Transport in Dnepr and QR-codes

In the nearest future QR-codes will appear at public transport stops located at two avenues in Dnipro. Thanks to the mentioned mobile app, the passengers will be able to know when necessary bus will arrive.

Practically all passenger motor vehicles in Dnipro already have GPS devices. Gradually city authorities will equip all trolleybuses and trams with GPS system.

Digital traffic control will secure tight schedule for all transport modes and stops purely at specially designated locations. Digital displays installation all over the city will cost too much for city budget, in the meantime most part of passengers has smart phones.

E-ticket to be launched in Kharkiv by the end of the year

e ticket1The «E-ticket» system will be launched in Kharkiv by the end of 2017 starting with trolleybuses and trams and then connected to the existing metro system.

On the 21 of December 2017 Kharkiv city administration approved an investment agreement in order to apply E-ticket in urban electric transport.

Mykolayiv city authorities plan to provide e-ticket in public transport.

e ticketMykolayiv city authorities promote implementation of e-ticket in public transport. Such innovation allows to count passenger volume precisely, to optimize public transport routes and to keep count of privileged passengers.

After the presentation city administration specialists will prepare a technical task, required to implement e-ticket system. The next step would be an open tender.

Passenger Minivans to be Managed by Passengers

Sprinter taxibusControlled fleet movement according to the schedule, modern smart bus-stops, proper work of mobility operators, their motivation to serve privileged groups of passengers. All mentioned points are parts of the progressive program offered by Stryzhakov Municipal Agency (Zhitomir) on the basis of successful experience in other cities. Project authors mention that the cost of the program is dozen times lower then funding assigned in 2017 to public transport. As a result citizens finally will have high quality passenger transportation service.

BENEFITS FOR PASSENGERS

This system was already successfully applied in seven Ukrainian cities, currently Chernihiv joined the program. The company will furnish public transport with all necessary devices, namely with GPS equipment.  Consequently, both passengers and city authorities will see where certain passenger minivan, bus or trolleybus is located. This information will be available on the screens at smart bus stop or in smart-phone or computer. Besides, all public transport schedule reports will be forwarded directly to city administration.

At the same time, mentioned system includes automatic sound: both audible stops announcement inside passenger compartment and outside - announcement of the route number of the arriving vehicle. This is very useful for people having weak sight. Drivers will obtain video information device showing where they need to slow down or hasten according to the schedule.
